Today is the death anniversary of the legend of Punjab 'Surjit Bindrakhia'. He has died on 17th November, 2003. He is known for his Hekh, in which he usually sings a note continuously in one breath. Surjit Bindrakhia has given many hit songs which include Tera Yaar Bolda, Dupatta Tera Sat Rang Da, Jatt Di Pasand, Dil Da Pata Nahi, Lak Tunu Tunu, Main Kalaa Nahi Kehenda, Teri Meri Nahi Nibhni, and Main Kal Tak Nahi Rehna. He received a special jury award in the year 2004 for his contribution to Punjabi music.
